Frances Penn

Frances Penn is known for fresh, relaxed interiors with a flourish.  She likes to mix old and new, colour, pattern and texture with simplicity that ensure rooms never feel overfilled. Working closely with her clients and often basing schemes incorporating their existing possessions, she creates wonderful bright spaces that are easy to live in.

After studying textile design at Chelsea College of Art, Frances spent six years working for Issey Miyake and five years with Bill Amberg.  She then moved to near Bruton in Somerset with her family where she co-founded an interiors and lifestyle shop, Betty Frank, and began accepting interiors commissions.

Returning to London has allowed her to concentrate on interior decoration.  Recently completed projects include refurbishing and decorating her first commercial project, a pub with rooms in Somerset and residential projects; a flat in Chelsea, townhouses in Notting Hill and Kew, and houses in Devon & Oxfordshire.  She also assists her father, David Mlinaric, in his interior design consultancy, working at Somerset House, London and at The Waddesdon Estate (The Rothschild Collection), Buckinghamshire.
